Matures in 80-90 days or about 45 days as a snap bean. Drought tolerant, hardy and prolific, this bean is named after the Arikara tribe of the Dakotas and has been identified as the same variety collected by Lewis and Clark. Commercially introduced as the "Yellow Indian" in the 1880s and grown by Thomas Jefferson in 1810, who called it the "ricara." The Arikara Yellow is now on the Slow Foods Ark of Taste. 50 seeds.
